Two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis has joined ESPN.
The sports network announced this morning that the NFL veteran will make appearances on several of their television and radio shows, including traveling to the site of each week’s Monday Night Football game.
The former Baltimore Ravens linebacker announced he was ready to retire in early January as his team embarked on the NFL playoffs.
The 37-year-old missed a large amount of last season due to what many thought would be a season-ending arm injury, but returned just in time to help lead the Ravens to win their second franchise Super Bowl.
Lewis played 17 seasons in the NFL, all with the Ravens, and was selected for the Pro Bowl 13 times.
“ESPN is such a big part of how fans watch and experience sports, especially the NFL, so I’m excited to join their team,” Lewis said, reports ESPN. “I’m ready to bring the same level of passion to this next phase of my life as I brought to the field during my years as a player. I can’t wait to work with my new teammates, many of whom I’ve already known for years.”
