Dodgers’ outfielder Matt Kemp scored major points after a random act of kindness last weekend.
A video recently posted to You Tube Monday shows Kemp running across the field to shake hands and autograph a baseball for a disabled Dodgers fan after the Dodgers v. Giants game in San Francisco last weekend.
Kemp then proceeds to take off his hat, remove his shirt and untie his cleats as he hands over the personal items.
“It’s just something I felt probably would have cheered him up a little bit,” Kemp told Yahoo!’s Tim Brown. “Help him out a little bit. I just did it.Hopefully that made that kid’s day … I don’t even know the kid’s name.”
The ‘kid’ was identified as Joshua Jones, who reportedly attended the game after his family ‘put money together’ for the front-row seats. Jackson has been battling brain cancer for three years.
In an interview with NBC4, Jones said, “I didn’t even know. My dad talked to the third-base coach and he surprised me. I’m still kind of amazed by it.”
