Pregnancy prevention campaign features pregnant boys

NBC Chicago – The Chicago Department of Public Health is taking a unique approach in its efforts to help reduce teenage pregnancy.

The new “Unexpected” campaign features pictures of teenage boys who appear to be pregnant, and is designed to instill the idea that teen parenthood is not just a girl’s responsibility.

The ads are currently displayed on city buses, trains, platforms and bus shelters.

CDPH officials say Chicago’s teen birth rate has decreased 33 percent, but sill remains one of the highest in the nation, 150 percent higher than the national average.
