Mark Wahlberg reveals marriage advice from Denzel Washington

If you think you’ve seen every interpretation of the buddy cop film genre, think again. Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg take the buddy cop theme to a whole new level in the upcoming action comedy 2 Guns.

The film’s plot revolves around a DEA agent and a naval intelligence officer who find themselves on the run after a botched attempt to infiltrate a drug cartel.

During an interview with theGrio, Wahlberg, who was involved in the pre-production phase of 2 Guns, discussed why it was so important for Washington to be cast as his co-star.

“There was only a couple of people that the studio would even approve to make the movie with, and with each person was a different level of budget,” he said. “You’ve seen this movie with comedians, but seeing this movie with dramatic actors who have comedic timing, it’s just so much more interesting.”

“The Ted star who has four children, and has been married since 2009, also revealed the best marriage advice he received from Washington, who recently celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary.”

“Whatever your wife says goes,” Wahlberg says the Flight actor told him. “Just say yes all the time, and be involved in every aspect of your kid’s lives.”
