Chris Brown to retire from music?

Chris Brown has kept his nose relatively clean leading up to the release of his sixth album, entitled X.

His first two new singles, “Fine China” and the Aaliyah-assisted “Don’t Think They Know,” have been well received, but according to his Twitter timeline, this may be his final project.

“Don’t worry mainstream America. After this X album, it’ll probably be my last album,” tweeted Brown this Tuesday morning.

Brown has vented in the past through social media about being portrayed in a negative light since his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna.

His most recent tweet appears to be in result of the culmination of mounting backlash against him.

Brown continued, “Being famous is amazing when it’s for ur [sic] music and talent. I’m tired of being famous for a mistake I made when [I] was 18. I’m cool & over it!”
