Michael Jordan once bested OJ Mayo in camp scrimmage

OJ Mayo – show us the tape.

This week, Michael Jordan’s interview promoting the new NBA2K14 video game included a hilarious tale of a then high-school-aged Mayo trash-talking ‘His Airness.’

Mayo was attending Michael Jordan’s Flight School and thought it wise to engage in back and forth with the game’s greatest player.

It didn’t work out well for Mayo, who recently signed with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Mayo admitted via Twitter that he had the tape:

Mayo told Bucks.com more details of the famed 1-on-1 matchup:

“We continued playing pick-up. Mike was Mike. He was jawing a little bit, really getting into me defensively. He’s backing me down. He said, ‘Better scream for mama. Mama. Mama.’ Hit the famous fadeaway on me. I said, ‘OK, OK, you’ve got it going.’

“He said, ‘OK, young fella, let me tell you something. You may be the best high school player in the world, but I’m the greatest ever. Don’t you ever disrespect the great like that.’”

We’re encouraging our Grio Fam to use the #ojshowusthetape. Let’s see MJ show Mayo how the greatest handles business.

**Update**

LarryBrownSports uploaded some highlights of the match-up, which was reportedly recorded in 2006:

Hopefully, Mayo will provide the full tape.
