Meagan Good says her prayers were answered when she was cast to play Ron Burgondy’s love interest in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
The film, which is in theaters today, shows off Good’s skills as a comedic actress.
“I said a prayer that I wanted to do comedy and action…. I just wanted to try a different muscle,” Good said in an interview with theGrio. “Something that required me to come completely out of my comfort zone, and do something fearless. That what this is for me and hopefully there will be a lot more.”
The 32-year-old actress also opened up about her on-screen interracial romance with Will Ferrell, and discussed the film’s use of racial humor.
“I think that more so than it just being humor, it’s addressing the issues. It’s kind of shedding a light on the ignorance. It’s having us deal with it in a way that’s disarming and you can eat on it and chew on it and say, ‘yeah that might be me.’”
