We apologize in advance for this horrific story out of Fairfield, California.
A father in that Oakland-area community allegedly bit the nose off of his infant child because he was frustrated with the baby’s crying.
The Fairfield police department received a call around 8 a.m. yesterday morning from the child’s mother who was terrified because her son was bleeding profusely from the nose.
According to authorities, the father, Joshua Cooper, (who is also the suspect) is only 18 and the mother is 17.
NBC Bay Area reports:
The infant was taken to North Bay Medical Center where doctors determined that the infant’s nose had been severed and he had possible head trauma.
The infant was then transferred to Oakland Children’s Hospital, where doctors determined that the infant had suffered a skull fracture and a brain hemorrhage and that one-third of the child’s nose had been severed. The child is currently in stable condition.
Cooper was arrested for child cruelty and aggravated mayhem. He has been booked into county jail.
