Rapper Andre Johnson, known by his stage name Christ Bearer, allegedly cut off his own penis and jumped from a second story balcony on Wednesday in a possible suicide attempt.
He is still currently being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where there was an attempt to reattach the rapper’s penis but it was reportedly unsuccessful.
After news of the incident broke, FOX411 sat down with John Wayne Bobbitt, who is best known for an infamous 1993 case in which his wife cut off his member after an alleged sexual assault and threw it in a field.
Bobbitt weighed in on the challenges of reattachment surgery.
“You have got to get lucky. And it’s about the doctors and it’s about time,” he said.
Bobbitt went on to talk about the mental struggle as well, stating, “It’s a traumatic experience, it hits you not only physically but also seriously mentally and it definitely [causes] deep emotional pain and depression.”
Meanwhile, the Wu-Tang Clan, which was reported to have had ties to Johnson appeared to be distancing themselves from the rapper in an article that was widely distributed on social media entitled: “Parental Advisory: Don’t Believe the HYPE: This Mother F—ker Ain’t Got S—t to do with The WUTANG Brand.”
However, Healthcliff Berru, a representative for Wu-Tang Clan, told E! News that he did not put out any article and that he did not know who Johnson was before the incident.
Berru said that what Johnson did was “unfathomable” and that the members of the Clan “feel for his family at this time.”
