Increasingly under fire over veteran’s health care neglect, President Obama  declared he will not stand for misconduct at the nation’s veterans affairs hospitals.

“If these allegations prove to be true, it is dishonorable, it is disgraceful and I will not tolerate it, period” Mr. Obama said.

The president met with Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki and Deputy Chief of Staff Rob Nabors Wednesday morning prior to speaking on the issue.

Following the meeting, the president made a few brief remarks, his first comments on the Veterans Affairs issue in over two weeks, and vowed to hold those responsible for any misconduct.

Critics say the presidents words are too little and too late considering the scope of the allegations, which include nearly 40 patients dying while waiting for treatment at one hospital.
