Some of music’s most successful artists are sharing their thoughts on the passing of Dr. Maya Angelou.
Common, who featured Angelou on his 2011 album The Dreamer/The Believer, said the poet was “one of his heroes” in a social media post.
Verdine White of the group Earth, Wind & Fire posted a short tribute on the band’s Facebook page:
Maya Angelou was a guiding light, her words will transcend time. She will live on in our hearts forever. Thank God for Maya. May she rest in paradise.
