Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o has yet another reason to celebrate; she’s officially been cast to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII.
Nyong’o took to Instagram Monday to share the good news. “I can finally say it out loud and proud: I’m going to a galaxy far away,” she wrote, accompanied by a Star Wars logo.
According to Entertainment Weekly, it’s still unknown what role Nyong’o will play in Star Wars.
Aside from a brief cameo appearance as a flight attendant in the action film Non-Stop, the 31-year-old actress has very few credits on her Hollywood resume.
Last month, Entertainment Weekly’s Mark Harris addressed Nyong’o’s upcoming film role and her future as an actress in his article: Black star, white ceiling: Why can’t Lupita Nyong’o find a role worthy of her?
Hopefully, Nyong’o’s Star Wars will be the answer to that question.
