First look at Season 2 of 'Preachers of L.A.'

The Preachers of L.A. are returning to Oxygen for an all new season premiering Wednesday, August 20 at 10/9c.

Last season, Preachers of L.A.  became Oxygen’s most-watched freshman series ever, averaging one million total viewers. The show gives viewers “a candid and revealing look at six boldly different, world-renowned mega-pastors in Southern California: Bishop Noel Jones, Minister Deitrick Haddon, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Jay Haizlip, Pastor Wayne Chaney and Bishop Ron Gibson.”

“‘Preachers of L.A. is powerful, impactful and touches viewers’ spirit,” said Rod Aissa, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development for Oxygen Media.  “These six men of God and the amazing women alongside them are brave and transparent about their journey in life, which is why it resonates so well with Oxygen’s young, female audience.”

According to a press release from Oxygen:

“Season two is full of self-discovery and change with growing families and ministries, incredible women of strength beside them, and ever-changing relationships. Bishop Jones and Loretta’s relationship is still evolving, but Bishop Gibson and Lady LaVette’s strong convictions keep them from accepting the nature of their friends’ close bond, causing a devastating rift. With his focus on ministry and not his personal life, Bishop Jones enlists the help of his fellow preachers to create an event that will positively impact the community of Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, after much turmoil, Deitrick and Dominique are now married and have a new addition to their family — but their marital bliss is short-lived when Pastor Jay accuses Deitrick of deceiving him at their wedding. Family dynamics are also rocked when Pastor Jay and Christy’s relationship is put to the test as Pastor Jay struggles to forgive a family member for their past demons. Bishop McClendon is focused on the expansion of his new ministry in Atlanta, but he is challenged when he must deal with every father’s fear — giving his daughter away to another man. Pastor Wayne Chaney and First Lady Myesha must balance business with personal now that she is the newly appointed Executive Pastor of their church. And while Myesha is feeling better than ever after getting healthy and shedding 40 pounds, the couple struggles with a life-altering decision about the future of their family.”

Singer Michelle Williams, who acts as a mentor on Oxygen’s new music-driven series Fix My Choir,  kicks off a two-part Preachers of L.A.special event beginning on Wednesday, July 23 at 10/9c. Michelle returns to the infamous “Mancave” for a sit down with the cast to take a look back at the tests, trials and triumphs that got viewers talking.

On Wednesday, July 30 at 10/9c, Michelle joins the first ladies and Loretta for the ultimate “First Lady Tea,” where nothing is off limits.
