An Arizona State University professor arrested in May for aggravated assault against a police officer, among other charges, believes she was wrongfully arrested and treated with excessive force by the arresting officer.
Ersula Ore, an ASU English professor, was arrested on May 20 after she refused to show identification to an arresting officer and reportedly kicked him in the shin.
Ore believes she was violated and disrespected by the officer during the arrest, a belief supported by an eyewitness who called police during the altercation when the officer threatened Ore, but police believe the action was necessary because Ore was resisting arrest.
