Amber Rose talks possible play date with her son and Kanye's daughter

Amber Rose is headed to the big screen, starring in Nick Cannon’s new comedy School Dance, in theaters today.

The film centers on a high school student who’s found his dream girl. There’s just one problem: she doesn’t know he exists. If he can win a spot on the school’s hottest dance crew, he might have a shot.

Rose stars in School Dance as one of the high school’s “it” girls.

During an interview with theGrio.com’s Chris Witherspoon, Rose talked about School Dance and also weighed in on some of today’s hot topics in pop culture.

Rose and her husband Wiz Khalifa are friends with Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina.

This week, Bobbi Kristina made headlines after lashing out at Angela Bassett on Twitter over the upcoming Lifetime biopic about her mother that Bassett is set to direct.

Bobbi Kristina had harsh words for Basset, who recently gave an interview discussing the TV movie, and her decision to cast YaYa DaCosta to play Whitney Houston, as opposed to Bobbi Kristina.

“I did not think about casting her. And probably for a number of reasons, you know. One being that she’s not an actress. I know she’s acted here and there. I know she’s been on their family’s reality show, but she’s not an actress and acting is a craft,” Bassett said.

Bobbi Kristina took to Twitter, delivering what many are calling a tasteless response to Bassett’s remarks.

“Ha MsAng ‘bassketcase’ has such a damn nerve my lord, at least the world doesn’t mistake me for the wrong sex…she has some #XtraEquipment.”

She added, “When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I’ll be sure 2shout URname out b-tch! Hah UrTestResults = Male. Lmao.”

Rose defended Bobbi Kristina, saying that she’s still mourning the death of her mother.

“I think that Angela’s right in the sense that she’s not an actress,” Rose said. “I definitely want people to understand that that is her mother. So her lashing out like that I feel like people need to understand that she’s still mourning for her mother.”

Rose also addressed the paparazzi’s obsession with Hollywood power couples including Beyoncé and Jay Z and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

“I think it just comes with the lifestyle,” she said. “The paparazzi are actually very nice to our family. They’re always very nice to us and never mean or overbearing. We’re very nice to them. We understand that everyone has a job. Everyone has a hustle, and it’s their job to take pictures of celebrities. That’s how they make money.”

Lastly, she weighed in on the possibility of her son, Sebastian, one day having a play date with her ex-boyfriend Kanye West’s daughter North West.

“I’m open for my son to make his own decisions. They’re the same age … as they get older and if they want to hang out, that’s fine. Absolutely.”
