A grandmother picked up someone she thought was her granddaughter at a Paterson, New Jersey, school last week.
Except that it wasn’t.
And the school didn’t catch the mistake either.
The 3-year-old’s parents told New York’s WNBC they were “terrified” to learn their daughter Madison left school with a stranger. The woman who mistakenly picked her up reportedly had not seen her actual granddaughter in nine months.
The two shared the same name, according to a spokeswoman for the school district.
Madison’s father, Gemar Mills, is reportedly considering legal action. The child’s mother, Wynter Willis, works at the Dale Avenue School where the incident occurred.
