UPS employee trades $160K stolen diamond for $20 marijuana

Police say a one-time UPS employee allegedly stole a package containing a $160,000 diamond and then the traded the diamond for about $20 worth of marijuana.

Yep, you read that right.

Phoenix’s ABC-15 is reporting that 20-year-old Walter Earl Morrison was unloading a plane in the Sky Harbor Airport’s cargo zone when he came across an “interesting” package.

According to court documents, Morrison thought the package was cash and stuffed it in his shirt.

It turns out the package was, in fact, a diamond.

A spokesperson from UPS said the authorities recovered the jewel and delivered it to its rightful owner.

Morrison was promptly fired and has been charged with “felony theft.”
