Woman gets stuck in chimney trying to break in online date's home

A California woman was arrested after emergency responders rescued her from a chimney.

Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa was trying to break into the home of a man she met online when she became lodged in the chimney. Neighbors called the police at 5:45 a.m. Sunday Oct. 19th to report a woman crying in the area. When Ventura County emergency responders arrived on the scene, authorities “carefully” dismantled the fireplace and doused Figueroa in dish soap and water to pry her loose.

After her extraction, Figuera was taken to Los Robles Regional Medical Center.

The homeowner confirmed that he and Figuera met online and that they dated a “few times.” He also noted that this was not the first time police have had to be called to get Figuera off his roof. “Just a fatal attraction, man. I didn’t think it was going to get that bad. It got bad real quick. Real quick,” he said to FOX 11.

Figueroa has been charged with illegal entry and providing false information to an officer.
