Braxton Cosby speaks out on rape allegations against uncle Bill

Comedian Bill Cosby has been dogged by mounting accusations of sexual assault by more than a dozen women. His nephew Braxton Cosby became the first in the family to publicly come forward to denounce the allegations in an interview with blogger Farrah Gray.

“I believe he is innocent and unless the judicial system can prove otherwise, I stand behind him and his contributions,” the married father of three said.

Gray asked Cosby if he considers the attacks a modern day “media lynching.” Braxton said he wouldn’t go that far but did make this comparison:

“I would be more inclined to compare it to the passage in the Bible where the people of the village were about to stone the woman caught in adultery and Jesus challenged them by saying that the person who without sin should cast the first stone. The one difference in this case being that the woman was caught in the act and her accusers brought her forward.”

The Altanta-based Cosby is the CEO and co-founder of Cosby Media Productions. It’s a new full-service entertainment company that focuses on new intellectual properties in the areas of books, magazines, radio, music, television and film, according to their website.

When asked how the allegations are affecting the Cosby family, Braxton had this to say:

Well, for me personally, it has allowed me to see some people in a different light. The Bible says that brothers are born on adversity and a friend loves at all times. I’ve seen the true faces of a few friends around me and that is OK because it is necessary. But, at the same time, I’ve been given a lot of love and warm wishes by acquaintances over social media and they have really shown their appreciation to the contributions of my uncle.

The younger Cosby does not believe that his uncle will come out and address the allegations himself.
