Bill Cosby has hired a team of private investigators to gather damaging information about his accusers, according to the New York Post.
Cosby has reportedly shelled out hundreds of thousands in fees to investigators in an effort to abate the credibility of his alleged victims. A source for the Post confirmed that Cosby has acquired the services of at least one Glendale, Calif. firm with a half-dozen former LAPD detectives on staff.
Cosby’s attorney, Martin Singer, has confirmed that Cosby will consider any information regarding accusers’ past improprieties a reason for criticism.
An insider at a meeting between Cosby’s legal and public relations teams witnessed the comedian state, “You say I’m a bad guy, well, let’s see what gives you the right to throw a stone at my house when your home is also made of glass.”
The tactic has already yielded desired results, revealing that Beverley Johnson’s boyfriend said she only had good things to say about Cosby. Reports found that Johnson never told her lover of several years anything comparable to what she has told media outlets. Investigators also discovered information regarding another accuser, Katherine McKee. In a published interview featuring McKee, she stated that she was “used to lying.” Internet posts made by McKee lauded Cosby for his stand-up act and overall personhood.
Cosby’s attorney, Martin Singer, commented on the press’ biased handling of allegations against his client: “You [the media] don’t need private investigators to find out information about the accusers. A simple Google search will obtain the information.”
