Lifetime’s second season of Bring It! looks like a winner!

In an age of mindless reality TV shows touting cast members with questionable talent, Lifetime appears to have separated itself from the pack with its runaway hit Bring It! The high-octane show features Jackson, Mississippi, dance troupe the Dancing Dolls as they contend with a series of regional competitions.

At the helm of the troupe is their no nonsense matriarch, Dianna Williams (lovingly referred to as “Miss D”). Anyone who’s seen the first season knows Miss D is a force to be reckoned with, and her girls are as ambitious as they are committed.

What makes Bring It! so surprisingly addictive is its down to earth “southern charm” and the fact that it consistently promotes a strong work ethic; something that is often missing from other offerings in this genre.

Only a few episodes into the first season, fans found themselves rooting for the girls to win as they faced off with fierce rivals in the world of elite hip-hop majorette dance. Even Miss D’s tough as nails exterior quickly starts to make sense as you realize how invested she is in making sure the young women get the love and guidance they need.

As with any show, a bit of drama is an entertaining necessity. This comes by way of the girls’ outspoken mothers who often find themselves engaged in power struggles with Miss D and each other. Even when tempers flare – it’s clear that all the women want what’s best for the children. Their playful camaraderie is a refreshing and often humorous reprieve from the intense pressure their daughters face on the road.

In season one, a team from Miami defeated the Dancing Dolls, and now they’re even hungrier for a win. In season two, they’ll battle teams from Atlanta, Alabama and Nashville along with an epic rematch with their biggest rivals — the Supastarz. From the previews, it appears Miss D is pulling out all the stops by bringing on guest choreographers and even enlisting boy dancers to shake things up. But as usual – keeping the moms’ egos in check will be no small feat, especially when a new mom makes her way into the fold.

To build excitement for the S2 premiere of Bring It! Lifetime teamed up with up-and-coming R&B singer Tinashe, who will help bring the show’s themes to life by showing her fans how she brings it on tour and in everyday life. The #HowIBringIt partnership launches on Sunday 1/17 through the premiere, and for one lucky viewer there will be a prize package that includes two V.I.P concert tickets to one of Tinashe’s 2015 tour stops. Check out more information below and on Tinashe’s social media pages!

Season two of Bring It! premieres on Friday, January 23 at 9/8c on Lifetime.
