#PrisonBae Jeremy Meeks sentenced to more than two years

Prison Bae is going to prison for real.

Jeremy Meeks, whose mugshot went viral after Stockton police uploaded it to their Facebook page, was sentenced Thursday to more than two years in federal prison.

Meeks was sentenced to 27 months in prison after he was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was also required to complete the 500-hour-long Bureau of Prisons Substance Abuse Treatment Program.

Meeks gained notoriety after his mugshot, which was never taken down from the Stockton police’s Facebook page, went viral. As of his sentencing, the picture had 101,944 likes, 12,836 shares and 26,695 comments. It’s also generated nicknames like “Mugshot McDreamy” and hashtags like #FelonCrushFriday. The image was posted in June and is still getting hits.

A Santa Monica-based company has since offered Meeks a modeling contract, although he will have to wait to begin his modeling career until after serving his prison sentence.

A judge also required Meeks to pay a $100 fine, but he was unable to do so.
