Darius McCrary, who played “Eddie Winslow” for nine seasons on Family Matters, was arrested Wednesday for reportedly failing to pay child support.
TMZ reports that an Oakland County judge informed the actor during a court appearance that he could either serve some two weeks in jail or pay a fine of $5,500.
McCrary paid the fine and was released later that afternoon, according to Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
In response to news of his arrest, McCrary took to social media to defend himself against what he describes as wrongful persecution.
He also compared himself to Dr. Martin Luther King because apparently Twitter allows you to post and say anything:

Friday, McCrary continued to defend himself on Twitter with a series of tweets:
I'm not the first father and I won't be the last to suffer. The key is to figure out how 2 keep our #CHILDREN from suffering. #Change

Let’s hope Eddie Winslow gets it together, real quick.
