San Francisco prison allegedly forced inmates into combat fighting ‘like something right out of ‘Game of Thrones’ for their amusement

Since at least the beginning of March, inmates in San Francisco’s local County Jail No. 4 have been forced to participate in gladiatorial games by the city sheriff deputies, according to San Francisco public defender Jeff Adachi.

Deputy Scott Neu, the apparent ringleader, already has a lot to answer for in the way he treats inmates, having previously faced accusations that he forced inmates to perform sexual acts on him. Neu is accused of threatening inmates into participating in the games by threatening to withhold food from them, threatening them with physical violence, and even threatening them with rape.

“I don’t know why he does it, but I just feel like he gets a kick out of it because I just see the look on his face,” Ricardo Palikiko Garcia, one of the inmates involved in the alleged brawls, told the San Francisco Chronicle. “It looks like it brings him joy by doing this, while we’re suffering by what he’s doing.”

On Thursday, Adachi called for an independent investigation into the claims. “This is sadistic behavior. This was like something right out of ‘Game of Thrones.” he said. ’This is something that goes beyond any sense of common decency.”

Neu, along with three other deputies who were allegedly involved in the games, has been placed on paid administrative leave.
