7-Eleven employee pulled from news interview because he was late to work

Last week, police arrested two people suspected of committing armed robbery at a Chicago 7-Eleven store.

Two employees of the store were injured as a result of the incident, which took place early Friday morning in the West Town neighborhood.

A newly-hired employee talked to reporters outside of the store later that morning, expressing shock and disbelief that something like this could have happened.

Before the interview concluded, another employee came out of the store to cut it short.

“Jabari get your butt in here,” the other employee said before whisking Jabari away. “Bye.”

The moment left WGN-TV morning anchors chuckling Monday morning.
