Mother drove 6 children to fight where 1 child is shot

This was definitely not the kind of carpool most parents are involved with.

A Louisiana mother has been charged with six counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and disturbing the peace after she drove six kids to a fight outside New Orleans. Two of the children were her own.

35-year-old Lakenya Hall drove the children to the fight after there had previously been an altercation at the bus stop. At the fight, a 14-year-old was shot in the leg and treated at the hospital. Another minor, a 15-year-old, has since been charged with aggravated battery and illegal possession of a handgun.

Hall’s two sons, 15 and 11, were also arrested. They were charged with disturbing the peace.

Authorities have been told that video exists of the fight, and police are working to find it. “Just because you’ve been in a fight, it doesn’t give you the right to go over there and start a whole new fight,,”said Lt. Brian McGregor, spokesman for the Kenner Police Department.  “She’s instigating something by taking the group over there in the first place.”
