Harriet Tubman on the $20? Raven-Symoné says no

Right on time, Raven.

A whole bunch of people voted in an online poll for Harriet Tubman to replace Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. It’s pretty much indisputable that Tubman is awesome. And if somehow new $20s are printed, it would be wonderful for Tubman to get some shine.

And that’s where Raven-Symoné would like you to know she’s not feeling it.

“I don’t like that idea,” she said on Wednesday’s episode of The View. “I think we need to move a little bit more forward.”

Watch Raven-Symoné share her thoughts below:

The actress would have preferred Rosa Parks.

“I would have chosen someone that is closer to the progression that we’re doing now,” she said. “And I know you have to understand history so you don’t repeat it. But that doesn’t really happen in our world because we still repeat history of hating other cultures over and over again. So, I would chose a different one, no offense.”

We’re not sure what the “progression we’re doing now” means or why Tubman isn’t “forward” enough for the TV host.
