'Hurry Up & Die' rapper Chinx killed in drive-by shooting

Lionel Pickens, better known by his stage name, Chinxm was shot multiple times and killed as he drove his Porsche down a Queens boulevard early Sunday morning.

According to the police, his 27-year-old passenger was also hit twice in the back at about 4 a.m. as they traveled on Queens Blvd. and is now in critical condition. The shooter sped off as the victim’s silver Porsche Panamera 4 eventually came to a stop in front of a Dunkin Donuts down the street.

“The police came and they opened up the door,” said Dunkin Donuts employee Bibekanada Das, who was working in the kitchen when the shooting occurred. “All you could see was the guy laid out in the seat.”

First responders rushed both victims to Jamaica Hospital, where Pickens eventually died. No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.

In 2009, Chinx released his first solo album, Hurry Up & Die Vol. 1: Get Ya Casket On. He collaborated with French Montana and NORE as part of the label Coke Boys Records and had posted a photo to his Instagram just hours before the shooting.
