Jay-Z, Beyoncé reportedly spent tens of thousands to bail out Baltimore and Ferguson protestors

While some have accused Jay Z and Beyoncé of indifference to the plight of protesters around the country, one organizer took to social media to give credit to the influential couple for donating money behind the scenes.

dream hampton, who collaborated with Jay Z on the book Decoded, sent out a series of tweets Sunday, saying the Carters have been a quiet force for good without drawing attention to themselves.

One of the major hurdles facing protesters in Baltimore and other areas is the monetary burden imposed on them, in the form of bail money, among other fines. In the face of these hurdles, it seems, the Carters have donated tens of thousands to help pay bail and have gone on to contribute in ways that, according to dream hampton, are “too much to list.”

The tweets started with: “I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad.”

She then continued: “When we needed money for bail for Baltimore protesters, I asked hit Jay up, as I had for Ferguson, wired tens of thousands in mins. When BLM needed infrastructure money for the many chapters we’re growing like beautiful dandelions, Carters wrote a huge check….and more stuff, too much to list actually, that they always insist folk keep quiet.”

Following her short rant, dream hampton deleted the tweets, but you can check out the screenshots below from Complex.
