After Beyoncé teased a “big announcement” in advance of her Good Morning America interview, her fans woke up Monday morning ready for the big news.
To their surprise, and disappointment, the previously taped GMA segment was about the superstar’s diet and her veganism, something that fans have long known about.
“I’m not naturally the thinnest woman. I have curves,” she said in an exclusive clip. “I have struggled since a young age with diets. Finding something that actually works and keeps the weight off has been difficult for me.”
Watch Beyoncé discuss her ‘big announcement’ below:
Beyoncé’s vegan diet began when she and her husband, Jay Z, took a 22-day vegan challenge, and she liked how she felt afterward so much that she just kept right on eating that way.
“After having my daughter, I made a conscious effort to regain control of my health and my body. But I didn’t want to do a crash diet,” she wrote in the forward of Borges’ book The 22-Day Revolution. “I was a mom now. I needed to change my ways and set an example for my child.”
And while this was the first time Beyoncé has spoken about her diet on camera, it’s not the first time fans have heard the spiel, and they were upset that they’d gotten their hopes up for nothing more than the same things they already knew.
Some of them vented via Twitter and others even took to posting non-vegan food emojis on her Instagram pictures.
