Malaak Compton-Rock is reported seeking a large amount of Chris Rock’s $70 million in their divorce so that she can continue to live the lifestyle she has grown accustomed to.
Compton-Rock believes that she is entitled to a great deal of that fortune because of her work at home. When she married Rock in 1996, she left her career to be a stay-at-home mother shortly afterward.
Their kids, Lola Simone, 13, and Zahra Savannah, 11, take up much of her time, when she is not running the charity circuit, where she runs a group called The Angel Rock Project. These charity projects as well as the children, who she and Rock have agreed will be shared 50-50 between them, require a lot of time and money to maintain. Because of this, according to court filings, she is demanding pay “commensurate with the marital standard of living.”
Because their prenup agreement expired under a sunset clause, it is becoming more likely that the couple will have to take their bank account battle to court.
Rock filed for divorce in December of 2014 as rumors began to circulate that he was dating actress Rosario Dawson. When asked about the split, Rock said that he felt “sad outta your f- -king mind.”
