Three days before Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive in a bathtub, she was reportedly involved in a car accident.
A man who claims he was severely injured as a result of the wreck is now suing Brown for damages exceeding $730,000.
Russell Eckerman says Brown was driving and collided with his Ford vehicle. He is seeking relief from mounting medical bills and his “serious injuries,” according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The suit, which was filed on Friday, alleges that Brown was speeding and tailgating when she blew a right wheel tire, swerved into oncoming traffic, and hit Eckerman’s vehicle. A nail was later found in the tire by investigators.
According to a witness, Brown jumped out of her car to check on the status of Eckerman, who was bleeding from the head at the time and did not have a pulse. Eckerman was taken to North Fulton Hospital, where he spent several days in critical condition.
“She was running and screaming, ‘Oh my gosh,’” the witness, Osse Lessage said. “My brother-in-law was there (saying) ‘calm down, calm down.’”
The suit is being brought against Brown through her guardians: her father, Bobby Brown; her aunt, Pat Houston; and her conservator, Bedelia Hargrove.
The suit also names Ford Motor Company, claiming the airbag did not deploy properly and the seatbelt was defective.
