Lil Wayne and his former mentor, Birdman, have been involved in a very public dispute for some time stemming from Lil Wayne’s desire to leave Cash Money.
Apparently, on Sunday night, Lil Wayne was performing at Club LIV when someone threw a drink at him onstage during his performance of “Coco,” which is known to be a track that disses both Birdman and Cash Money.
According to TMZ sources, Birdman, who was standing in the VIP section above where Wayne was performing, was the one who dropped the drink. After Wayne was hit, drinks were then tossed at Birdman by people in the crowd.
Birdman and Lil Wayne ended up in the same club because they were both there for a Jim Jones party.
Lil Wayne has publicly stated that he wants out of Cash Money, saying he was a “prisoner and so is my creativity,” and, “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people.”
He has also accused Cash Money of delaying his latest album, Tha Carter V, despite high anticipation for its release. Lil Wayne filed a lawsuit against Cash Money and Birdman, suing them for $51 million.
