Terry McMillan is the latest celebrity to find herself in hot water for saying, “All lives matter.”
Many believe the turn of phrase, a spin off of “Black lives matter,” diminishes key point of the anti-brutality movement — which is that black lives, in particular, are under attack.
When the bestselling novelist posted the statement on her Twitter, her mentions were flooded with comments from fans disappointed by her perceived lack of nuance and sensitivity.
