Surveillance video captured the moment a Florida woman began to teach a young girl, believed to be her daughter, how to shoplift.
The video shows the woman in question showing her young daughter, who looks to be about seven years old, which bottle of tequila she wants. The girl tries to pick up the bottle, but it is too heavy, and she makes her way down the aisle to tell her mother about the problem. She then goes back and gets a lighter bottle, which she keeps behind her back as she darts out of the door, while her mother stands in the way of the clerk so that the clerk cannot see what has happened.
Other customers, however, notice what has happened and inform the clerks, and a confrontation follows between the clerks and the woman, who storms out to her car before returning to say that her little girl had not taken anything.
Since the video has surfaced, the store owner has come forward to say that it was “very, very sad that the mother did that.”
Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office have not yet identified the woman or her “daughter,” and no arrests have yet been made.
