Damon Wayans is on the defensive after an interview he gave on Friday in which he defended Bill Cosby generated some serious backlash against Wayans.
Wayans, in speaking about the multiple rape allegations against Cosby, said, “Tell the truth, if I was him, I would divorce my wife, wink wink. Give her all my money, and then I would go to a deposition, light one of those three-hour cigars. I’d have me some wine and maybe a Quaalude, and I would just go off.”
During the interview, in which Wayans said the he suspected the rape allegations were a “money hustle,” he also made disparaging comments about the victims, saying, “And some of them is un-rape-able. I look at them and go, no, you don’t want that. Get out of here.”
Once the interview hit social media, there was plenty of outrage over Wayans’ comments. Wayans has since taken to Twitter in an attempt to combat some of that outrage, tweeting, “Stop twisting my words. Watch the entire interview before u condemn me!”

He also posted a clip from the same interview in which he was a little kinder to the victims. In the clip, he said, “And for them, my heart goes out to them. For anybody who was raped by Bill Cosby, I’m sorry and I hope you get justice.”
