BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore County police say a man fatally shot by an officer was unarmed but aggressive and didn’t follow commands to stop.
Police say the man was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon in Reisterstown, a Baltimore suburb, during a confrontation at a pharmacy where he’d tried to obtain narcotic cough syrup with a forged prescription.
On Thursday, police said video footage from nearby businesses shows the man aggressively approaching an officer before reaching around his back, then abruptly swinging his arm forward — at which point the officer fired. Police declined to release the footage Thursday.
Police say that the man was shot three times and that no weapon was found at the scene.
They say the officer is white and the man was black. Police have not identified either one.
