Draya Michele on reality TV: 'It ruins families'

Draya Michele, of Basketball Wives fame, is tired of reality television and would instead like to take some time for herself to focus on other things, such as fashion design.

“Reality TV is really tricky,” she said of her time on Basketball Wives. “The first two season of [Basketball Wives] were the hardest, but that’s when I enjoyed it the most. The last two seasons were the easiest, but I was just mentally over it.”

The star, who was known for catfights and drama, said that it was time for her to leave. “I got to grow up in front of America. But now that I’m grown, I don’t need every single thing I do to be on TV and to be judged…I just don’t like it anymore. I just want to live a more private life,” she said.

She went on to warn anyone who was thinking of doing reality television away from the life that she has had.

“I don’t recommend doing it,” she said. “I think it ruins families, relationships, work relationships. I think it tarnishes your name,” hinting at the negative press surrounding her relationship with Orlando Scandrick.

Michele is ready to leave behind her life as a controversial reality figure and pursue her other passions, and it looks like she’d recommend the same for others.
