Evelyn Lozada and her daughter, model Shaniece Hairston, were on-hand Wednesday night to celebrate the New York City premiere of OWN’s Belief series that kicks off Sunday at 8/7c.
Lozada and Hairston, who currently star in OWN’s Livin’ Lozada, opened up on the impact that Oprah has had on their belief practices and also took a moment to talk about NBA star Lamar Odom’s recent hospitalization.
“It’s sad,” Lozada said of Odom, who was found unconscious Tuesday and subsequently rushed to a Las Vegas hospital. “No one ever knows what someone is going through. Clearly there was a lot going on there. I wish him the best and I’m praying that he comes out of it. He’s been through so much… the death of his mother, sister… child. I can’t even imagine going through what he’s gone through.”
She later defended Odom’s estranged wife, reality star Khloe Kardashian, who has received some scrutiny in the media since his hospitalization Tuesday.
“I see that people are being mean and nasty to Khloe [Kardashian], and I’m like, ‘you don’t know anybody’s situation unless you’re in it.’ I’m not gonna speak for her, but I feel bad for her and I’m praying for her too, because I can’t even imagine what she’s going through.”
