On Monday, Oprah Winfrey made $71 million, just from one investment in Weight Watchers.
Shortly after Winfrey announced that she had bought 10% of the outstanding shares for Weight Watchers, the market went crazy, with shares for that company being traded more than 70 times more than normal.
“I believe in the @weightwatchers program so much I decided to invest, join the Board, and partner in #wwfamily evolution,” Oprah, 61, tweeted yesterday.

At the end of the day, stocks soared from $6.79 to $13.92, and Winfrey had grossed $71.6 million on Monday, according to Forbes.
Winfrey’s stock deal is part of a general collaboration agreement she has struck with Weight Watchers to promote the company and its programs for five years.
“Weight Watchers has given me the tools to begin to make the lasting shift that I and so many of us who are struggling with weight have longed for,” Winfrey said in a statement. “I believe in the program so much I decided to invest in the company and partner in its evolution.”
