Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Boy George was in front of a studio audience at the live audition stage for The Voice when he made a claim so bold that it literally forced production to halt until everyone could process.

A source said that Boy George claimed to have slept with Prince, and the remark “sent the audience absolutely wild and forced producers to stop filming.”

According to the Daily Mail, Boy George made the claim when he and fellow judge panelists Will.i.am, Ricky Wilson and Paloma Faith were engaged in a bit of one-upmanship concerning collaborations that they had been a part of.

“I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson,” Boy George began.

“Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince,” said Faith.

“Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince,” Boy George said.

After that, according to the source, the crowd went “absolutely wild,” and production halted while things calmed down. Meanwhile, the other judges apparently thought the whole thing was brilliant and kept high-fiving Boy George until production staff spoke with him.

“After that, Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall,” the source said. “But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.”
