Pastor allegedly raped 15-year-old member of congregation during piano lessons

A pastor at a Baptist church in Georgia has been accused of raping a 15-year-old girl who was a member of his congregation. He would allegedly pick her up under the pretense of giving her piano lessons.

Camerius J. Mills currently faces three counts of second-degree rape, one count of second-degree sodomy and three counts of traveling to meet a child for the purpose of having sex. He may also face felony charges, because investigators believe that at least one of the offenses could have occurred on federal property.

The sheriff’s office began its investigation into Mills after being alerted to the situation by officials with the Henry County Department of Human Resources in October.

“He was a pastor and he had befriended this young lady in his congregation,” said Sheriff’s investigator Keith Cauthen. “He picked her up under the pretenses on teaching her the piano.”

“I questioned him, and he eventually admitted to everything,” Cauthen, who arrested Mills, said.

“He knew better, he was a pastor. He befriended her and he took advantage of her. With the Henry County Sheriff’s Office our goal is to protect the citizens, and we’re going to make sure he does not prey on anyone else again.”
