ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) — Police in South Carolina say a toddler got ahold of a gun and fatally shot himself.
A report released by York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said that 3-year-old Savion Barrow of Rock Hill died at a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound just before 3 p.m. Sunday. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
Police say no charges have been filed in connection with the death, although the investigation is continuing. Police did not immediately say what kind of gun was involved or how the child may have gotten ahold of it.
Officials say a 10-year-old girl was at the house at the time, as were four women, ages 29, 20 and 18.
Rock Hill is about 70 miles north of Columbia.
