Eazy E’s son speaks out about Charlie Sheen’s HIV diagnosis

Now that Charlie Sheen has gone public with his HIV diagnosis, Eric Wright Jr., the son of legendary N.W.A. star Eazy E, is speaking out as well.

Wright, who is often called Lil Eazy E, said that he hopes Sheen’s public announcement will allow him to help campaign for more awareness of the disease which claimed the life of his father.

He also noted that his father died at a time when there were no “lifesaving treatments” and recalled the details of his loss.

“He died on March 26 and we buried him on April 7. I turned 11 on April 23rd,” he recalled. “So in three years I’m going through the whole teenage growing stage, sex education, STDs. I was like, Oh wow, after you kinda get over the pain of losing a father and not having a father figure…. I played sports and didn’t have a father to teach me how to throw a football or play football.”
