Farrah Franklin is here to tell the real story of why she left Destiny’s Child.
During an interview with VLAD TV, Franklin refuted the oft-repeated claims that she had been kicked out for being lazy and missing shows and instead explained that she left because she was being mistreated and because Mathew Knowles was too aggressive.
“Ultimately, it was management, he did get kind of loud… It’s not a way you would want somebody treating your 18-year-old daughter, fresh out of the hospital from stomach flu and dehydration,” Franklin said.
“I’ve never missed a show, ever. Or I would have gotten kicked out of the group. When I left the group, they weren’t honest with people to say I left. You can’t say I’m missing shows if I’m not a part of the group anymore. That’s a lie. A bold-faced lie,” she explained. Later on in the interview, she even pointed out that she had once come to a show despite feeling very ill.
“Because they didn’t want to tell people what was going on. They lost two other members six-months ago, but everybody’s leaving for the same reason and we don’t even know each other,” she added.
She then continued, “I did walk out on Seattle, because that’s when I quit the group. What you see is me leaving the group. I walked out of my hotel room — weren’t filming, there was nothing going on.”
