Arlington police officer buys boy new bike after his was stolen

Arlington police officer Antonia Crutcher couldn’t stand to see the look on a young boy’s face when his bike was stolen, so she decided to do something about it.

According to NBC DFW, the young boy, Giovani, had found Crutcher to tell her that someone had taken his bike from Foster Elementary School. Crutcher and another officer searched for the bike, but they couldn’t find it.

“Seeing that look on Giovani’s face just broke my heart,” Crutcher told NBC. “It stayed with me. It just constantly stayed with me. I’m a mother. I would never want to see a child’s heart broken. They’re innocent.”

Following the incident, she and her husband got a new bike for Giovani.

“To see that smile on his face melted my heart,” said Crutcher. “It was just amazing to see that I could put that smile on that child’s face.”

Best of all? The bike has a nice, new lock.
