Sophina DeJesus absolutely owned the floor Saturday with her fantastic floor routine, which helped her UCLA gymnastics team to eke out a win against the Utah Utes, the two-time defending PAC-12 champions.
DeJesus strutted out onto the floor, even though the awkward white guy announcer totally got her name wrong: “Sonya Meraz is becoming a house favorite here, isn’t she?”

She nailed her tumbling passes, but it was the strutting and the dancing in between that had the crowd roaring. First, she whips, then she nae naes, then she dabs, and the whole time, the crowd is screaming and putting up all ten fingers: “10! 10! 10!”
She clinched a score of 9.925 with her epic routine.
