John Legend schools Trump’s son on racism following Chicago rally cancellation

After Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was forced to cancel a rally in Chicago because of safety concerns of fights breaking out between Trump supporters and protesters, Donald Trump Jr. retweeted a negative statement about the protesters. John Legend couldn’t let it stand, so he let Trump Jr. have it and schooled him on racism.

“Ha 5 students when asked why they were protesting couldn’t even answer. The participation medal/micro aggression generation is pretty sad!” Trump Jr. retweeted on Friday.

Legend jumped to the protesters’ defense, saying, “@DonaldJTrumpJr I think they were protesting your racist father. This isn’t complicated.”

“Here we go again. That can’t be the answer for everything you don’t like. That’s why the country is so divided now!” Trump Jr. shot back.

Legend also took on “Trump trolls” who responded to his calling out Trump Jr., including one Twitter user who said that he was uneducated. His response was flawless: “The Donalds and I graduated from the same University, funny enough.”

Both Legend of Trump graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Legend also tweeted an article stating that staff at Trump properties would mark black people’s applications with a “C” for “colored” and said, “Yes, Trump trolls. I’m the real racist.”
