NYC teacher fined for showing students ISIS beheading video

A middle school teacher in New York City has been fined after she showed students a video of an ISIS beheading.

Alexiss Nazario reportedly showed the video to her students at the South Bronx Academy for Applied Media. While the actual beheading was blacked out, students said that the severed head could be seen afterward in the video. Nazario claimed the she had accidentally played the wrong video.

Although the Department of Education tried to fire Nazario, an arbitrator ruled in favor of a lighter sentence, instead fining Nazario $300.

Nazario is now working as a roving substitute teacher, according to officials.
