A Florida man who tried to buy a BMW using food stamps came back to the dealership to steal the car but was caught by police when he ran out of gas.
Nicholas Jackson was turned away by the Pompano Beach dealership when he tried to buy the BMW with his Electronic Benefits Transfer card and a credit card. However, the dealership was burglarized the next day, and the BMW, along with 60 sets of keys, was stolen.
Police caught up with Jackson in Palm City, which is about 70 miles north of Pompano, when the discovered the BMW with the gas tank on empty. Jackson had apparently run out of gas.
